Questions to ask a clinic in Mumbai
Who does the extraction and graft placement?
Many clinics use a team of technicians. Ask which steps the doctor does personally, and whether the doctor is present all day. The ISHRS advises that cutting the scalp is surgery and should be done by a licensed doctor.
Can I check the doctor's registration?
Yes. Ask for the doctor's full name and registration number. You can search the Indian Medical Register or the Maharashtra Medical Council portal.
What exactly is in the package price?
Quotes can bundle extras. Ask for a written list: grafts, tests, medicines, PRP sessions, dressings, the first wash and follow-up visits. Ask whether GST is added.
How many follow-up visits are included, and where?
Growth takes a year or more, so you will want to be seen several times. If the clinic has more than one branch, ask which one you will visit and whether the doctor who operated will review you.
What happens if grafts do not grow as expected?
Ask how the clinic reviews results at 12 months, and what it charges for a touch-up session. No clinic can promise a result, so be cautious of any that does.
